McLanachan Transport Wins Top Trailer Fleet Award Sponsored by SDC
Celebrating Success– McLanachan Transport awarded the Transport News, Scottish Rewards Top Trailer Fleet Award.
We were delighted to accept the award at this year's event, the 27th Annual Scottish Awards, on Friday the 3rd of December. It was a pity that COVID restrictions meant last year's event could not take place, but for the judges to choose MTL this year fills us with great pride.
McLanachan Transport Managing Director Damian McLanachan, who attended the event on Friday the 3rd of December at Glasgow's Crowne Plaza Hotel, and accepted the award on behalf of MTL, explained, "Industry peers who are readers of Transport News Magazine nominate across several categories. Once all the votes are in, they are handed over to a panel of judges. The nominations are counted and assessed, and judges also act as adjudicators in the event of a tie.
Transport News informed us that it is not always simple enough to get the highest number of nominations to win the award. Industry judges look at the companies who receive the most votes and assess their reputation, Department or Transport reports and overall company profile. McLanachan Transport's professionalism is well known, industry-wide, and our drivers have an excellent reputation across the haulage community. The Traffic Commissioner's clean bill of health and company transparency was no doubt pivotal in the judges' final decision to award McLanachan Transport. I would also like to thank SDC, who sponsored our particular award category and congratulations to all nominees and winners."
Why does winning matter?
McLanachan transport takes enormous pride in the company which stands today. We are a family business started by industry stalwart Matt McLanachan and now managed by his son Damian, who has taken the company from strength to strength, with a reputation for quality tractor units prized by their drivers as well as a superb fleet of trailers.
Damian commented further, "Our customers demand on-time deliveries, but this is only made possible by ensuring that the fleet we put on the road is capable of doing the job. We provide our drivers with one of the best fleets available, especially when travelling Europe-wide. The pride, our drivers, take in their job and the comments they receive from other drivers tell us we are doing things right".
"Winning Scotland's Top Trailer Fleet Award means a lot to us, and the whole company takes great pride in this particular achievement. It's a testament to our team's planning and dedication throughout all business areas. I want to thank Kevin Swallow at Transport News for the award, the judges and organisers for an excellent show."
Hopefully, McLanachan Transport will be back on the nominee's list for next year's event, and we are already looking forward to attending.
Kevin Swallow added a comment on MTL's success by saying, "To win the SDC-sponsored Top Trailer Fleet Award is quite an achievement because the trailer represents the business end of the transport operation, as this is where you carry the customer's goods. The trailer fleet operated by McLanachan Transport has been recognised as being first-class, which makes the firm a thoroughly deserving winner of the award." Kevin Swallow, Transport News
The award further enhances the reputation of McLanachan Transport as an employer of choice.
