Business Development Manager
Salary: Competitive and Negotiable Based on Experience
Location: Eurocentral, Scotland - Office-Based

As we expand, we're looking for a dynamic, experienced, driven Business Development Manager to join our team and help propel our growth.
The Role: Business Development Manager
As the Business Development Manager, your primary responsibility will be to drive business growth by identifying new opportunities, building strong relationships with potential clients, and expanding our footprint, especially in the temperature-controlled supply-chain sector. You will play a key role in shaping the future of our business, working closely with senior management and receiving support from our sales, marketing, and communication team to develop and implement strategic plans that align with our goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging your industry experience and network.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients, demonstrating an understanding of their needs and delivering tailored transport solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful onboarding of new clients and seamless service delivery.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine and improve our service solutions.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to potential clients.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals that align with McLanachan Transport's objectives and profitability targets.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on business development activities and progress against targets.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of the temperature-controlled supply chain, including regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and able to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Experience with CRM software and other sales tools is advantageous.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Chemical and pharmaceutical industry experience would be advantageous.

Transport Planner
Salary: NEGOTIABLE on experience
Job Description: Our customers have grown to trust McLanachan Transport to deliver on time throughout the UK and Europe. As a direct result of our high customer satisfaction, we are going through a period of growth and need to increase the number of planners within our team.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
This role involves coordinating vehicles and loads to ensure that customers meet time deadlines and bookings run to schedule.
Main Responsibilities
- To schedule and plan routes ensuring optimisation and effective use of all company vehicles
- To ensure company compliance with all transport policies, legislation, and procedures
- To be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of drivers
- To ensure the smooth operation of the Transport Office, compiling and maintaining documentation and managing information
- To be responsible for ensuring drivers operate safely and legally and comply with WTD and Driver Hours legislation
- To answer queries and enquiries from both external customers and internal communications
Your Experience
- Previous experience in traffic planning – at least two years
- Be able to meet customers KPI's
- Good Customer Service Skills
- Be familiar with transport planning software
- Good communication skills, both written & oral
- IT Literate
- Follow procedures as directed by customers and management
- A driving license is essential
